Demographic Leadership
TECH 63200
This course addresses the major underlying changes redefining the United States. It directly yet sensitively examines how we as individuals can more readily deal with demographic shifts, and in the end, how changes in racial and ethnic diversity and age distribution present us all an opportunity to be our better selves.
This course examines the rich intersections between each of these major changes. It examines the underlying behaviors of bias and how to identify it. Then, the course invites us to rethink these beliefs and subsequently modify our resultant behaviors. Our unconscious biases will have magnified opportunity to manifest in behaviors that might be better, or divisively worse. Whether our behaviors are magnified as good or bad will depend on our awareness and understanding of what is happening and why.
